In July 2023, High Access Cabling successfully completed the last of the sports lighting upgrades at Rieschiecks Reserve, installing new floodlighting towers at the Athletics Track, Football Oval, and Hammer Throw Area for Manningham City Council.

The projects saw the deployment of four new 27-meter lighting poles, accompanied by 16 Sylvania Schreder Raptor 1200W LED floodlights, which now grace the Rieschiecks Reserve Oval. The Hammer Throw area now boasts three 20-meter lighting structures, adorned with a total of eight Philips Lighting Optivision 1500W LED floodlights.  And finally, the Athletics Track shines with four towering 30-meter light poles and an array of 40 Philips Lighting Optivision 1500W LED floodlights.  In conducting this considerable scope of work, every measure was taken to minimise damage to the athletics track and playing surfaces, including underground boring.

The remarkable lighting levels achieved have elevated the training and competition experiences for all field users, with light test reports revealing illuminance levels well above the expectations of 200 lux for the Athletics Track, 100 lux for the Football Oval, and 200 lux for the Hammer Throw area.

The implementation of a sophisticated lighting control system from Halytech also offers remote capabilities, allowing members from the various clubs that use these facilities to control the lights with a simple SMS, ensuring convenience and flexibility.

With Rieschiecks Reserve now radiantly illuminated, the sporting experience for the Manningham community has greatly improved.
